PRANG COLOUR WHEEL
The prang color wheel
is based on three Primary colors and Secondary colors are made by
mixing two primary colors and Tertiary colors are created from mixing both
primary and secondary colors. The prang color system was developed by Louis
Prang in 1876.
Primary Colors: Red, Blue, and
Yellow
Secondary Colors: Orange, Violet and
Green
Tertiary Colors: Yellow-Orange,
Yellow-Green, Blue-Green, Blue-Violet, Red-Violet, and Red-Orange.
Colors fall into two groups
Warm Color: colors
like red, orange and yellow are considered as warm colors. They are stimulating,
aggressive, lovely. These are the colors of fire.
Red: love,
activity, passion, anger, joy, danger, courage
Yellow: bright, sunny,
cheerful, creativity, positive
Orange: enjoyment,
creativity, change, warmth, stimulation, balance
Cool Color: colors
like blue, green and purple are warm colors. They are calm, creates a soothing
impression. They remind the things like water or grass.
Blue: inspiration,
trust, wisdom, faith, intelligence
Green: freshness,
growth, nature, energy, harmony, calm
Violet: luxury, dignity, pride, royalty, power
